The KTLA reported that officials from the commercial crime department searched Coolkicks’ Santa Monica warehouse. On Thursday, Oct. 2, police reportedly detained four people, including owner Adeel Shams, and charged with felony charges on suspicion of receiving fake items worth more than $950. Authorities also grabbed dozens of Nike sneakers during their bust. At that time, Shams was broadcasting an online sneaker auction as the police walked in. A Reddit video shows him looking surprised and assumes it’s just a “shaking” prank – a plan in which people take emergency personnel to a location with false excuses. Coolkicks deleted the official statement on Instagram a day after the police raid. The store claimed that officers allegedly never accused them of selling fake goods. They also stressed that the authorities have only adopted a handful of Nike sneakers reportedly stolen.

“Neither Coolkicks’ leadership nor our employees have any knowledge or reason to believe that these products have been stolen. We have always made this purchase sincerely and are committed to building an honest business of honesty and trust.” Statement reading.
