BFI London Film Festival Name 2025 Jury, led by Elizabeth Karlsen Filmywapp
Elizabeth Karlsen, co-founder of the No. 9 film (carol,,,,, Made in Dagnum) and film producer Kahlil Joseph (BLKNWS: Terms and Conditions) will be in the official competitive jury at this year’s BFI London Film Festival.
The festival, which took place from October 8 to 19, unveiled Wednesday, with Oscar-winning Carlson being appointed to jury chair, joined by Joseph and Justin Chang, award-winning film critic. Nia Dacosta Heda With Jonatan Etzler’s Tessa Thompson Bad Apple and Mona Fastvold’s Ann Lee’s Willstarring Amanda Seyfried.
Elsewhere, the jury of the first prestigious contest (Sustherland Award) will be led by British film producers and co-founders of the Kibwe Tavares factory. Tavares and kitchen (2023) Co-directed with Daniel Kaluuya, the film premiered in 2023.
Leading the jury to select Grierson’s Best Documentary Award winner is Eloïse King, his debut album Doc Shadow Scholar Premiered at LFF last year. She previously founded Women in the Docs curatorial program to advocate for non-binary works in women and non-fiction, and founded White Teeth Film. Modern Art Museum curator Josh Siegel will serve alongside King, and Reece Goodwin, curator of the Australian Centre for Moving Images (ACMI).
Ming-Jung Kuo, artistic director of the Singapore International Film Festival, is also an advisor to the Locarno Film Festival and currently a consultant to Cannes Directors’terf and will lead the jury to select the best short film. British Filipino writer and director Stomach worm (2024), Matty Crawford and animation director Lee Ott (Dragfox) The jury ended.
